1. Place a small drop of fresh blood near an end of a slide.

2. Holding the PUSHER slide at 30° angle draw it back along the slide until the bottom edge contacts the drop of blood.

3. Wait until the blood spreads along the bottom edge of the PUSHER slide.

4. Push forward in a smooth, quick motion.

5. Air dry.

6. Fix in 95% methanol for 3-5 minutes.

7. Air dry.

8. Smears may be stored at room temperature for a short time. Carefully wrap the slide in Saran wrap and store in a sealed packet at -20 °C.
