One or a combination of the following may help:
1. Add 5% DMSO in cycle sequencing reactions.
2. Add betaine to final concentration of 1 M in cycle sequencing reactions.
3. Manual editing of the sequence data based on the electropherograms.
4. Substitute dGTP with dITP in the reactions.
5. Running sequencing gels at higher temperature and/or in the
presence of stronger denaturants.
