CD24lo on memory B cells may represent a separate lineage of B cells. While this issue is quite controversial, the point that memory B cells in mice are low in CD24 has been replicated by several laboratories. Decker et al. and Linton et al. make controversial assignments of CD24lo to a memory lineage. Allman et al. show that CD24hi on splenic B cells mark an immature splenic subset.
